3D Facebook Icon in
Photoshop Mockup
by: Marvin
You’ve probably seen a lot of 3D social icons in blogs and
other sites and most probably wanted to learn web design. The most commonly used programs in creating this type of effect
are Cinema 4D, 3DSMax and Illustrator. But in this web design mockup tutorial
by icon designer and photographer Alexis Brille, she used mainly Photoshop in creating
this simple and elegant 3D social icon.
Check out Brille’s Photoshop tutorial where she demonstrates
how to apply semi-realistic lighting and shadows using Layer Masks, Bevel,
Gradient, Inner Shadow and other key Blending Options in the Layer Style Menu,
omitting the need for any of the 3D manipulation tools.
Using only Photoshop, you can create wonderful lighting like
this to your icon and achieve a very nice impression of a 3D object.
