2 Very Helpful
Plugins for Your Blog Comments
by: Keith
Here are two helpful plugins for you to learn web design techniques and help encourage your readers to
post comments on your blog site AND make commenting on it a more engaging
experience.
What I find great about WPMU
Dev’s plugin is that it is basically a 2-in-1 package. How so? Because it
basically allows your readers to comment and share your blog or article at the
same time.
You see, the typical or usual scenario would be a two-step
process:
1.
The reader posts his/her comment and
2.
He/she clicks on the Share, Like, Diggit, or +1
button.
With Comments
Plus, both steps are accomplished. It enables your readers to post a
comment via the social network of their choosing and then posts said action
immediately afterward.
Let’s say that the reader chose Facebook to comment on your
blog. Once he clicks on that submit button the activity is then reflected or
posted on his Facebook wall.
So far this plugin only has four available social media
services for commenting: Facebook, Twitter, Google, and WordPress. Hopefully,
the guys at WPMU will be able to add more options in its future versions.
Sometimes when a reader leaves a comment on your site, there’s
a chance that he might forget about it, especially if that reader happens to
just stumble upon your site by chance. If that happens, you can almost equate
that with losing one potential returning visitor.
Well, here’s one way to increase the chances of them
returning: let them know that someone replied to their post with WP’s
Comment Reply Notification!
This plugin sends out an email notification to the commenter
informing them that someone replied to their comment. This is beneficial to the
commenter since it gives him the opportunity to follow up on replies to his
post. And because this plugin could bring more traffic to your site, it is even
more beneficial to you.
