I came accross on this today with a great post again coming from Blogfreakz you can click here on Disabling/Enabling Comments To All Or Unregistered Users Only. They are explaining here on how to disable comments to all or unregistered users. This is possible via Wordpress and it is modifiable via phpMyAdmin. They have their a script that you could use.
